Results: PAP won 82 seats out of 84. The two opposition parties remained. The Opposition were also winners with Workers' Party (WP) Low Thia Khiang and Singapore Demorcratic Alliance's Chiam See Tong retaining their strongholds in Hougang and Potong Pasir respectively. Besides securing a strong mandate the PAP achieved its objective of self renewal with 66.6% result.
