Family ties are the source of strength and support. Wow! what a timing! We had a very late night meeting starting at 9.30pm and finished off at 11.30pm (sounds like.... we are also opening for business like the night market... hee3). Anyway we resolved all the "hicups & misunderstanding" during my dad's death and agreed to forgive and forget and starts a new beginning for the year 2005.
My bro has realised life is short and decided to live life to the fullest, well I think it is all about you, how you want to live your life.
I thank God that HE is in our present, although they are so against me being a Christian but the goodness is they could see I am very blessed with a cheerful heart!
Praise be to GOD!
I was so burden to share the gospel with Nancy's mum, my Auntie today. I was so shocked to be called by Pastor Vic to be prayed for 'more power' hey! how did he know? He told me my name keep on flashing in his mind. Wow! that was scary, well I am so so blessed by God to be his chosen vessel.
When I called Nancy she told me her mum was admitted to SGH becoz of low sugar count and bed sore. I rushed to the hospital with her in the evening and share and pray with her. I can see she was touch by the holy spirit as she was crying and calling my name. God I am just doing your work and you will do the miracle.
Went to Chinatown with my second sis after seeing my auntie at the hospital. We had claypot rice and walk around chinatown buying some cookies. (see pics).
Phew! it was crowded as usual despite of whatever time you go Chinatown. I guess people think alike that in the day probably is less crowded than night. The market was packed with shoppers all rushing to have a good buy of fresh prawns, seafood etc. Yack! it stings, the stingky water dripping everywhere when you get close to the store to ask and the floor is full of puddles. I hate going to Chinatown market but hey! you can see 'angmohs' there as well....hoping for good bargain I think. Sorry Sir, all the price has been increased. (Wrong place). They are "smart aleck" going there to buy large prawns (hey why are you guys rushing with the Chinese). We almost loose out to them when they said they wanted 20 large prawns when we were there at the same store. Thank God we managed to get one kg after them. Phew! I hate going around from store to store.....yacky! I want to get out as soon as possible.
We immediately head for home, but no....no taxis, this is the price to pay for not having a car, it is so inconvenient. Well we are getting our 'Picnic' early March I hope. Will post some pics later..... look out for LNY mood in Chinatown but I still didn't get all my cookies. Arghz....!
Gosh! it was packed everywhere and is so difficult to shop with the trolley, all the time is saying "excuse me please"......"sorry" it's so stressful.
Anyway could not get what I want but some though. Do not believe that we have to stand in the Q for one hour waiting for Taxi, (hey, where have all the taxis gone).
By the time we reached home was almost 10.30pm. Looks like I have to go Chinatown to buy all our seafood stuff for LNY's reunion which I dislike going. No choice leh... will let you know what happen tomorrow ya!
Oops! have not shop for anything for Chinese Lunar New Year. Ayioh! so much work especially spring cleaning, cooking etc. etc. Must be kiasu a bit tonight have to GO and stock up some food.
Reunion dinner is a must, thank God I escaped 3 years in a row without having to worry about shopping for CNY. Almost did it again this year but sorry no luck have to cancel our holiday due to one reason or the other. Be obedience for once Christine!
Hey! (where ever you are), everybody is packing Chinatown with so much to stock up for the LNY, the believe is "mam" -(Abundant Harvest) and will bring prosperity, 'Fa Cai" etc.
Hey! not bad I am doing well......friends are calling me to collect "pineapple tarts" (being compassionate for my dad just passed away). Doreen is asking me to collect "mandarin oranges" & "love-letters". Praise God! HE provides!
Anymore....anybody....please call!!
Yesterday I was at SGH waiting for the shuttle bus to the MRT. I met 2 ladies one younger than the other in the queue. The younger lady named Margaret was behind me and spoke with me. Then she asked me the direction to Serangoon Ave which the older lady said oh...is so easy...bla...la...la. To my surprised Margaret was a sales promoter and she immediately tried to introduce some organic food to the older lady for her knee cap pain. Oops! hey I too have the same problem so I just listened patiently, to my surprised she said that she is not going to have it operated as she trusted the Lord will heals her - Amen! I quickly recognised my sis in Christ. I told her that I too have this problem and was prayed always. We must have faith Aty and trust God's healing not just listening to doctor's advice. *Beam..beam* she agreed with me. Praise Be To God! Margaret stopped immediately and tried to be friend me by giving me her contacts. Hey so interesting she said she gain a friend ....Hee3!
Words can lift our spirits. Sometimes is good to give people a pat on the back when they deserve it. Compliment the child who does something well. Commend the single mother who regularly brings her children to church. Encourage the man who keeps helping others even though he receives little appreciation from them. Keep trying to please God and the people around you.
We also show that pride hasn't gained the upper hand in our lives when we praise others. A proud person is so preoccupied with himself that he doesn't notice what others do and has no desire to compliment them. it would encourage them. And we should do likewise. By finding pleasure in being commended, we allow others to exercise their gift of encouragement.
Hey know what Margaret compliment me saying I look very radiant and cheerful, hmmm...must be from God HE is with me!
Went to see my mum at Serene house and came back almost 10.45pm. I'm so tired....!
We've all had intentions of doing something good but then failed to follow through. We may want to make a phone call to check up on a friend, or visit a sick neighbour, or write a note of encouragement to a loved one. But we don't take the time.
As Christians, we may say that we want to grow closer to the Lord, but somehow we don't make the time to read the Word of God or to pray.
Good intentions are no good until they are put into action.
Well I have to start moving to share the Gospel to Nancy's mum before is too late. God please give me the courage and filled me with strength again.
Liz called to say that they arrived safely and the flight was not fulled. They have a row of seats each to sleep. She is preparing for the prince to arrive, that is Maxim her grandson from Germany.
Went out lunch with Rosemary at Woodlands had a very meaningful time and fellowship, shopping etc. Enjoyed each others company. Yummy we had ice-cream to finish off.
Had breakfast at The Coffee Bean and look at Bill he is enjoying his first bite of croissant and good brew fresh coffee which he missed for a week, a typical English man! (see pic).
Sending Liz and Bill ... back to sweet suite home!! England.
